Law Nº 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy

In accordance with Law N° 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy, as well as other international legal frameworks governing data protection and privacy such as the Data Protection and Privacy (DPP) Law, this Privacy Policy explains how Burera District collects, uses, and processes your personal data when you visit the District’s website and voluntarily provide such information.

The processing of personal data is the responsibility of Burera District as the Data Controller.

WHY DO WE COLLECT AND PROCESS PERSONAL DATA?

The personal data we process is collected from various sources, including:

  • Requests for information or clarification on specific matters;
  • Submission of opinions or feedback;
  • Signing of contracts, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), or other legal documents in line with applicable laws governing data processing;

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT AND HOW IS IT PROCESSED?

In general, Burera District does not collect personal data from users visiting its website unless such users voluntarily provide it.

Providing your personal data through the District website is entirely voluntary. By doing so, you consent to the use of your data for the purposes outlined above.

  • Email address;
  • Telephone number(s);
  • Location (Country, District, Sector, etc.);

Additionally, Burera District uses Google Analytics tools to better understand how visitors interact with the website and to improve service delivery. The analytics systems collect information such as:
